About The Shopping Center

Forum Liberec - The Best Shopping in the Centre of Liberec

Easy, comfortable and peaceful shopping in the very centre of Liberec is offered by the Forum shopping and entertainment centre. The first part of it was opened to the public on 26 February 2009 and contains My Liberec department store and another approximately 60 shops. The new commercial and relaxation zone was created in space between the old Tesco department store and the transport terminal.

The centre’s owner is Multi Veste Czech Republic. The Dutch Multi Development group and Tesco Stores established it in May 2007 because of the construction of the Forum. The joint venture’s aim was to architecturally link the space of the upper and lower city centre, from náměstí E. Beneše, through Pražská ulice to Soukenné náměstí.

The shape of the new complex was designed by the Siadesign studio, headed by the leading architect Radim Kousal, who also designed the Regional Scientific Library in Liberec. It was intentionally designed as a set of varied urban buildings that are, from all viewpoints, sensitively linked to their surrounding area. The centre’s interior is decorated by an artistic gem, a half-ton, 11-metre high chandelier from the Slovenian designer Ajdy Balderman Plesnik. It was designed to look like a jewel and passes through several floors in the Forum's courtyard.

Easy parking is a matter of course and has been significantly extended. Another 500 spaces on the roof of the Forum shopping centre were added to the 350 places in the rebuilt parking garage.

The first stage of the Forum Liberec centre was the construction of 2,800 m2 of exclusive office space and 14 rental flats on an area of 1,500 m2.

The construction of the Forum shopping and entertainment centre was divided into two stages. The reason was the desire to retain constant operation in the Tesco department store, thereby minimising the impact on satisfied customers and enabling the completely smooth transfer to operations in the newly opened My Liberec space in the Forum shopping centre.

The second stage of construction started with the demolition of the old Tesco shopping centre.

The gates of the second stage of the Forum shopping centre project will open to the public in the autumn of 2010 and in another 80 retail units customers will find fashion brands such as H&M, C&A, Reserved, Promod, Monton, Celio, Esprit and many others. In addition to fashion, the centre will offer Datart, Sparkys, Giga sport, Adidas, Nike, Humanic, Hannah and DM drogerie stores.

The centre will include a food court with a varied range of fast food, a pizzeria, a children’s corner and other coffee shops.

Last but not least, the centre will have a new Palace Cinemas multi-screen cinema.
